TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF

   NORTH CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST KANSAS                             
   SOUTH CENTRAL AND SOUTHEAST NEBRASKA                           

EFFECTIVE THIS FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 230 PM UNTIL 900
PM CDT.

 ...THIS IS A PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION...
 
DAMAGING TORNADOES...LARGE HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...
THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 80 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE
POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.

THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS ALONG AND 65 STATUTE MILES NORTH AND
SOUTH OF A LINE FROM 70 MILES SOUTH SOUTHWEST OF KEARNEY NEBRASKA
TO 10 MILES SOUTH OF FALLS CITY NEBRASKA.

NORTH CENTRAL KANSAS INTO SOUTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA.  ADDITIONAL
WEAKER CONVECTION OVER CENTRAL KANSAS IS EXPECTED TO MOVE NEWD AND
GRADUALLY INTENSIFY NEAR THE WARM FRONT IN RESPONSE TO THE
STRENGTHENING LOW LEVEL JET.  OTHER STRONG/SEVERE STORMS ARE
EXPECTED TO DEVELOP OVER WRN KANSAS THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING AND
MOVE NEWD TOWARD NRN KANSAS/SRN NEBRASKA.  STRONG DEEP LAYER
SHEAR/HELICITY ACROSS THE AREA IS FAVORABLE FOR CONTINUED THREAT OF
SEVERE STORMS INCLUDING ISOLATED STRONG TORNADOES.
