THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A
TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF

   SOUTHEAST MONTANA                            
   NORTHEAST WYOMING                            

EFFECTIVE THIS SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 615 PM UNTIL 1100
PM MDT.

TORNADOES...HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS
TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.

THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS ALONG AND 70 STATUTE MILES NORTH AND
SOUTH OF A LINE FROM 50 MILES SOUTHWEST OF MILES CITY MONTANA TO 65
MILES EAST OF BROADUS MONTANA.

REMEMBER...A TORNADO WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR
TORNADOES AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH AREA.

DISCUSSION...THUNDERSTORMS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE DEVELOPING AHEAD OF
MID LEVEL VORT MAX MOVING NE ACROSS CNTRL WY.  THREAT WILL EXIST
FOR A COUPLE SUPERCELLS...ESPECIALLY AS ACTIVITY INTERACTS WITH
FRONT STALLED W/E INVOF MT/WY BORDER.  SUFFICIENT LOW LEVEL VEERING
AND BOUNDARY LAYER MOISTURE APPEAR PRESENT TO SUGGEST POSSIBILITY
OF A TORNADO OR TWO THROUGH MID EVENING...IN ADDITION TO LARGE
HAIL/HIGH WINDS.

AVIATION...TORNADOES AND A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL
SURFACE AND ALOFT TO 2 INCHES.  EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE WIND
GUSTS TO 60 KNOTS.  A FEW CUMULONIMBI WITH MAXIMUM TOPS TO 500.
