SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF

   WEST TEXAS                              

EFFECTIVE THIS THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 415 PM UNTIL 900
PM CST.

HAIL TO 1 INCH IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70
MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.

THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS ALONG AND 65 STATUTE MILES
EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 25 MILES WEST SOUTHWEST OF BIG SPRING
TEXAS TO 60 MILES NORTH NORTHEAST OF PLAINVIEW TEXAS.

POTENTIAL FOR DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE HAIL IN STRONGER CELLS. 
SHEAR PROFILES ARE FAVORABLE FOR SUPERCELLS...AND THREAT FOR
TORNADOES MAY INCREASE THIS EVENING AS STORMS MOVE INTO MORE MOIST
AIRMASS EAST OF LBB.
