AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SHREVEPORT LA 1145 AM CDT SAT JUN 30 2001 UPDATE JUST SENT OUT. STORMS ALONG I30 CORRIDOR ARE FIZZLING. DECIDED TO LET FLASH FLOOD WATCH EXPIRE AT 11 AM. IR SATELLITE SHOWS THE AREA OF STORMS EARLIER OVER THE AREA SPLITTING...WITH STORMS OVER AR SHOOTING TO THE E...AND STORMS OVER N TX PUSHING S. SINCE MY CWFA IS IN THE MIDST OF THE SPLIT...STORMS ARE THUS FALLING APART. AN OUTFLOW BOUNDARY DID DEVELOP LIKE YESTERDAY WITH THE STORMS OVER OUR AREA...BUT UNLIKE YESTERDAY IT LOOKS AS IT THIS BOUNDARY WILL GET SWEPT UP WITH THE SPLITTING STORMS THUS PULLING IT OFF TO THE E OVER SW AR. THE SEA BREEZE OF TODAY IS MUCH WEAKER OVER LCH AREA WITH MOST OF THE ACTIVITY OVER NEW AND ON EWD TOWARD THE AL/FL GULF COAST. WITH ALL OF THIS SAID...DON/T BELIEVE WE WILL HAVE THE BATTLE ZONE OVER OUR AREA LIKE WE DID YESTERDAY OVER CENT LA/ DEEP E TX. I HAVE LOWER RAIN CHANCES OVER MOST ZONE GROUPS WITH HIGHEST POPS OVER ELD/S AREA. HOWEVER...I/M NOT IGNORING ALL OF THE AVAILABLE MOISTURE AND THE EXTRA HEATING THAT IS GOING ON. THUS...HAVE JUST SHAVED BACK AND NOT STRIPPED ANY AREA COMPLETELY OF RAIN CHANCES FOR T=HIS AFTERNOON. DID HAVE TO RAISE MAX TEMPS A TAD TO ACCOUNT FOR AFORE MENTIONED. 20 .SHV...NONE.
