THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SPRINGFIELD HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  NORTHEASTERN BARTON COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST MISSOURI
  SOUTHEASTERN VERNON COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL MISSOURI      
  ST. CLAIR COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL MISSOURI      
  CEDAR COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST MISSOURI

* UNTIL 415 PM CDT

* AT 120 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED   
  A CLUSTER OF THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAINFALL ALONG          
  EXTENDING FROM 7 MILES SOUTH OF NEVADA TO LAMAR...MOVING NORTHEAST 
  AT 20 MPH.    

* SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS HAVE PRODUCED TORRENTIAL RAINFALL IN THE 
  WARNED AREA SINCE LATE THIS MORNING. ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORMS ARE  
  EXPECTED TO MOVE THROUGH THE AREA BETWEEN 130 PM AND 230 PM. RADAR 
  ESTIMATED STORM TOTAL RAINFALL INDICATES THAT 2 TO 3 INCHES OF     
  RAIN HAS OCCURRED OVER THE WARNING AREA WITH SOME ISOLATED 3 TO    
  3.5 INCH TOTALS NEAR AND JUST EAST OF EL DORADO SPRINGS. ANOTHER 1 
  TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN WILL BE POSSIBLE. 

SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLASH FLOODING INCLUDE...EL 
DORADO SPRINGS AND SHELDON.

WIDESPREAD STREET FLOODING HAS ALREADY BEEN REPORTED IN EL DORADO 
SPRINGS.

MOST DEATHS IN FLASH FLOODING OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW WATER CROSSINGS IF WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL ONE...ON
FOOT.
