OFFICIALS CONTINUE TO REPORT AREAS OF FLASH FLOODING OCCURRING 
ACROSS MUCH OF SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA AND NORTHEAST TENNESSEE. THE MOST 
WIDESPREAD CONDITIONS WERE OCCURRING ALONG THE CLINCH AND POWELL
RIVERS IN SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA. FLOODING IS BEING REPORTED ON VARIOUS
ROADWAYS. ISOLATED EVACUATIONS HAVE BEEN REQUIRED. MOST OF THE 
RECENT FLOODING HAS BEEN THE RESULT OF RUN OFF FROM EARLIER RAINFALL.
ADDITION MODERATE TO HEAVY SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED
THIS AFTERNOON. 
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT.
MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT CROSS BRIDGES,
DIPS, OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. NEVER TRY TO CROSS A
FLOWING STREAM, EVEN A SMALL ONE, ON FOOT. IMMEDIATELY MOVE TO HIGHER
GROUND TO ESCAPE RISING WATER.
