THE LAKE CHARLES SOUNDING THIS MORNING INDICATED A PRECIP WATER OF
2.09 AND A CAPE OF OVER 4 THOUSAND.  THIS INDICATES TO ME THE HIGH
PRESSURE RIDGE HAS NOT COMPLETELY INFLUENCED THE AREA AT THIS TIME
AND AFTERNOON AND EVENING THUNDERSTORMS WILL PREVAIL THIS EVENING
AND AGAIN ON SATURDAY.  ACCORDING TO THE ETA AND THE NGM THE HIGH
PRESSURE RIDGE WILL FINALLY DOMINATE THE AREA BY LATE SATURDAY AND
SUNDAY CAUSING SHOWERS TO DECREASE.  WITH THE SHOWER ACTIVITY
CONTINUING HIGH TEMPERATURES ON SATURDAY WILL NOT BE AS WARM AND
SHOULD BE BELOW THE HEAT INDEX CRITERIA UNTIL ATLEAST SUNDAY.  WINDS
WILL BASICALLY BE FROM THE WEST TO SOUTHWEST FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS
WITH LOW PRESSURE TO THE NORTH.  THE BOUNDARY LAYER RELATIVE
HUMIDITIES INDICATE MID TO UPPER LEVEL DRY AIR WILL MOVE INTO THE
AREA BY LATE SATURDAY CAUSING A PRETTY GOOD CAP IN THE MID
LEVELS...THEREFORE WILL DECREASE POPS CONSIDERABLY BY SUNDAY.

MARINE...WINDS AND SEAS REMAIN LOW THROUGHOUT THE PERIOD.  SOME
SCATTERED SHOWERS OR THUNDERSTORMS WILL PERSIST FOR THE NEXT FEW
DAYS.

LONG TERM...HIGH PRESSURE RIDGE AT 500 MB REMAIN OVER NORTH TEXAS
THROUGH ATLEAST NEXT WEEKEND CAUSING MOST OF THE SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS TO BE SUPPRESSED.  BASICALLY HOT AND DRY WILL BE THE
RULE FOR THE EXTENDED FOREC'AST.
