CLOUDS HAVE BROKEN UP ACROSS OUR CWA ALLOWING FOR SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS TO FIRE ACROSS THE UPSTATE AND WESTERN N.C.  DEWPOINTS
AROUND 70 AND TEMPS UPPER 70S TO NEAR 80... WITH CAPES NEARING 3000
AND LIS NEAR -6... A FEW TSTORMS MAY BECOME SEVERE.  HAVE ALSO BEEN
WATCHING SOME AREAS FOR CONTINUED HEAVY RAIN AND THREAT OF FLASH
FLOODING.  HOWEVER... MOST OF TODAYS RAINFALL HAS HIT DIFFERENT
AREAS THAN PREVIOUS DAYS.

MODELS ARE IN GOOD AGREEMENT TO MOVE THE CUT-OFF LOW SLOWLY
WESTWARD... KEEPING A WARM MOIST SOUTHEASTERLY FLOW ACROSS THE
AREA.  MESOETA KEEPS THE CONVECTION ACROSS THE AREA THROUGH WED

AN UPPER LEVEL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL MOVE SLOWLY WEST ACROSS
TENNESSEE THIS AFTERNOON. THE WESTERN CAROLINAS AND NORTHEAST GEORGIA
WILL REMAIN INFLUENCED BY THIS FEATURE...AND SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS
ARE EXPECTED OVER THE AREA THIS AFTERNOON. WITH GREATER LOW LEVEL
MOISTURE...YET DRIER CONDITIONS ALOFT...THAN THE PAST FEW
DAYS...CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR SOME OF THESE THUNDERSTORMS TO
BECOME SEVERE...PRODUCING DAMAGING WIND AND LARGE HAIL.

WHILE THE STORMS SHOULD MOVE TO THE NORTH AT ABOUT 20 MPH...MANY
AREAS ARE NEARLY SATURATED DUE TO RECENT HEAVY RAIN. CONSIDERABLY
LESS RAIN WILL BE NEEDED THIS AFTERNOON TO CAUSE FLOODING THAN IN
RTHE RECENT PAST.
