STRONG UPPER LEVEL SYSTEM COMING ACROSS THE CWA THIS MORNING AND
EARLY AFTERNOON....WILL SPREAD WIDESPREAD SHOWERS ACROSS THE
NORTHERN NC PORTION OF CWA AND SCATTERED SHOWERS ACROSS THE
SOUTHERN PORTION OF NC AND ALSO NE GA AND THE UPSTATE. THE FREEZING
LEVEL IS EXPECTED TO COME DOWN TO ABOUT 2 THOUSAND FEET OVER
NORTH NC MTNS SO MUCH OF THE PRECIPITATION THAT FALLS THIS MORNING
WILL BE SNOW. A LITTLE SNOW COULD ALSO MIX IN OVER THE HIGHER
ELEVATIONS OF THE SOUTHERN MOUNTAINS BUT AMOUNTS OF PRECIPITATION
SHOULD BE LESS DUE TO THE MORE SCATTERED NATURE. SOME RUMBLES OF
THUNDER WILL BE POSSIBLE EAST OF THE MTNS DUE TO THE STEEP LAPSE
RATES THAT WILL ACCOMPANY THE SHOWER ACTIVITY.

STRONG WINDS WILL COME UP BEHIND THE FRONT THIS AFTERNOON WITH WINDS
AVERAGING 25 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS INTO THE 40S. OUTSIDE THE MTNS
WINDS 20 TO 25 MPH AND GUSTY THIS AFTERNOON CAN BE EXPECTED. WINDS
DIMINISH DURING THE EVENING AND COLD AIR ADVECTION SHUT OFF AROUND
MIDNIGHT. A FEW FLURRIES WILL BE POSSIBLE OF THE NORTHERN NC MTNS
THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING WITH THE STRONG NW FLOW AND COLD AIR
ADVECTION.

SOME CLOUDINESS WILL INCREASE BACK OVER THE AREA MONDAY AFTERNOON
