SOUTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA/NORTH CENTRAL KANSAS FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HASTINGS NE 238 PM CDT WED AUG 22 2001 WEAK SURFACE BOUNDARY HUNG ALONG HIGHWAY 30 WITH INSTABILITY INCREASING ACROSS THE REGION. HIGH BASED DEVELOPMENT ALONG LINE FROM PHILLIPSBURG TO ABOUT HEBRON EVIDENT ON SATELLITE AND OUTSIDE. BEST DEVELOPMENT WILL BE WEST INITIALLY WITH BETTER CONVERGENCE...BUT MOVEMENT OF STORMS WILL BE EAST OR EAST/NORTHEAST...AND INHIBITION WILL BE LOST WITH TIME. SYNOPTIC SCALE LIFT SHOULD BE PLENTY TO WARRANT GOING ABOVE GUIDANCE POPS AND CONTINUING WITH HIGH POPS. FEEL SOUTHERN AREAS HAVE THE BEST SHOT...ALONG AND JUST NORTH OF LINGERING BOUNDARY.
