NORTHERN ARIZONA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FLAGSTAFF AZ 250 PM MST THU AUG 02 2001 .SYNOPSIS...HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE CENTRAL PLAINS IS FORECAST TO MOVE FARTHER WEST...TOWARD ARIZONA. THIS WILL CAUSE A CONTINUATION OF THE MOIST SOUTH TO SOUTHEAST FLOW OVER THE AREA. MONSOON MOISTURE WILL CONTINUE TO FEED UP INTO NORTHERN ARIZONA THROUGH NEXT WEEK...WITH DAILY SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUING. .DISCUSSION...DEEP MOISTURE AND ABUNDANT MORNING SUNSHINE HAS LED TO SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE MOGOLLON RIM AND YAVAPAI COUNTY THIS AFTERNOON. WITH THE RATHER WEAK SOUTHEAST FLOW...THE STORMS HAVE BEEN SLOW MOVERS AND HEAVY RAIN PRODUCERS. WILL CONTINUE TO MONITOR STORMS IN YAVAPAI COUNTY THIS EVENING FOR FLASH FLOOD POTENTIAL.
