.WED AND THU...
ETA AND AVN BASICALLY PRESENT THE SAME SCENARIO WITH GREATER ENERGY
AND LIFT MOVING NORTHEAST TONIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY. AVN SEEMS TO BE MORE
AGGRESSIVE WITH THE SYSTEM AND MORE PROGRESSIVE WITH THE THETA E
RIDGE/TROUGH. AM LEANING TOWARD THE SOMEWHAT SLOWER ETA MODEL.

BEST POSSIBILITIES OF PRECIPITATION WILL OCCUR OVER THE EASTERN ZONES
TONIGHT INTO MAINLY WEDNESDAY MORNING. THE THETA E RIDGE IS
SITUATED THERE FOR BOTH MODELS. FLASH FLOOD GUIDANCE STILL GIVES HIGH
VALUES THERE AND AM NOT LOOKING TO ISSUE A WATCH AT THIS TIME.
PRECIPITABLE WATER VALUES ARE HIGHER EAST...BUT FAIRLY HIGH WEST AS
WELL. THUS...LOCALLY HEAVY RAINS COULD OCCUR THROUGHOUT THE COUNTY
WARNING AREA TONIGHT...ALTHOUGH THE GREATER POSSIBILITIES WILL
OCCUR OVER THE EAST. HIGHER LIFTED INDICES SEEM TO HAVE SHIFTED INTO
NORTHEAST MONTANA...ALTHOUGH THEY ARE STILL FAIRLY HIGH OVER THE
SOUTHEAST PART OF THE STATE. THUS THE POSSIBILITY OF SEVERE STORMS EAST
OF THE BILLINGS AREA STILL LOOKS GOOD. IN THE BILLINGS AREA...HOWEVER...
AIRCRAFT SOUNDINGS SUGGEST THUNDERSTORMS...BUT NOTHING SEVERE.

PRECIPITATION CHANCES SHOULD LESSEN ON WEDNESDAY AS THE SHORT WAVE
MOVES OUT OF THE AREA. ON THURSDAY...ANOTHER SHORT WAVE MOVES UP ON
THE MONSOONAL FLOW. THETA E VALUES INCREASE OVER THE WESTERN ZONES.
THUS INCREASING POSSIBILITIES FOR RAIN WILL OCCUR THERE WITH THE EAST
BEING DRY.

TEMPERATURES MAY BE TRICKY DEPENDING ON CLOUD COVER OR LACK OF IT.
HAVE CONSIDERED BUFKIT3 SUGGESTIONS ON HOW FAR DOWN TO MIX THE
TEMPERATURES. CHB

.FRI...SAT...SUN...MON...TUE...
EARLY PART OF THE EXTENDED PERIOD WILL FEATURE FALLING HEIGHTS AS AN
UNSEASONABLY STRONG FEATURE BEGINS TO INFLUENCE THE NORTHERN WEST
COAST. FRIDAY SHOULD BE THE LAST DAY WITH 90 DEGREE POTENTIAL FOR MOST
OF THE AREA WITH SOUTHWEST FLOW INCREASING UPPER LEVEL MOISTURE AND
CLOUDS FOR SATURDAY AND BEYOND. MAIN QUESTION IS HOW DYNAMIC WILL THE
PATTERN BECOME WITH STRONG DISTURBANCES ROTATING AROUND THE
BC/WASHINGTON COAST TROUGH. WILL GO WITH A COOLING TREND FOR SATURDAY
WITH SUNDAY THROUGH TUESDAY LOOKING BELOW NORMAL TEMPS AND ABOVE
NORMAL PRECIPITATION. CURRENT PROGS LOOK A LITTLE PESSIMISTIC WITH THE
DEPTH OF THE SYSTEM...BUT WITH SO MANY MODELS IN AGREEMENT...A VERY
UNSETTLED PERIOD FOR EARLY NEXT WEEK LOOKS LIKELY. BORSUM
