WIDESPREAD CONVECTION HAS MOVED OVER THE WESTERN AND SOUTHERN
TEXAS PANHANDLE SINCE ABOUT 07Z THIS MORNING. NO SEVERE REPORTS SO
FAR BUT RECENT TRENDS FROM AMARILLO 88D SUGGEST SCATTERED STRONG
STORMS OVER RANDALL COUNTY WITH OTHER NUMEROUS/INTENSE CELLS BETWEEN
DALHART AND HEREFORD. STORMS WILL QUICKLY TRACK ACROSS CENTRAL AND
EASTERN ZONES THROUGH THE EARLY MORNING HOURS BEFORE EXITING THE
EASTERN ZONES BY MID MORNING. APPEARS STRONG WINDS ARE THE PRIMARY
CONCERN WITH THESE STORMS. AMARILLO VAD WIND PROFILER SHOWS LOW LEVEL
JET OF 25 KTS HAS BACKED WITH GOOD VEERING THROUGH 6KM.

MID/UPPER LEVEL LOW MOVING OVER CENTRAL NM EXPECTED TO DRAMATICALLY
WEAKEN CAPPING INVERSION THAT WAS SO PREVALENT YESTERDAY. DRYLINE
CURRENTLY ALONG THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN FOOT HILLS OF NM EXPECTED TO MIX
EASTWARD LATER THIS AFTERNOON. EFFECT OF MORNING CONVECTION OVER
PANHANDLES ON DRYLINE LOCATION LATER TODAY IS UNCERTAIN AND
CONFIDENCE THAT THE DRYLINE WILL REACH THE WESTERN TEXAS PANHANDLE IS
CONSIDERABLY LOW. UPPER TROUGH OVER NEW MEXICO AND ASSOCIATED 50KT
5H SPEED MAX SHOULD ALLOW FOR DECENT VERTICAL PROFILES LATER TODAY
TO KEEP THE SEVERE THREAT GOING WHEN AIRMASS RECOVERS LATE THIS
AFTERNOON IN RELATIVELY UNCAPPED ATMOSPHERE. SATELLITE IMAGERY
