TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF

   CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN TEXAS                              

EFFECTIVE THIS SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 400 PM UNTIL 1000
PM CST.

TORNADOES...HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS
TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.

THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS ALONG AND 85 STATUTE MILES EAST AND WEST
OF A LINE FROM 55 MILES SOUTHWEST OF COTULLA TEXAS TO WACO TEXAS.

UPPER SHORT WAVE TROUGH MOVING ACROSS NRN MEXICO TOWARD TEXAS.  AIR
MASS OVER SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS IS MODERATELY UNSTABLE WITH SBCAPE OF
2000-3000 J/KG...AND VAD WIND PROFILES/MODEL FORECASTS INDICATE
VERTICAL SHEAR IS SUFFICIENT FOR SEVERE STORMS...INCLUDING A FEW
SUPERCELLS...TO DEVELOP.  


AVIATION...TORNADOES AND A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL
