TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF

   CENTRAL AND NORTHERN LOWER MICHIGAN                           
   EASTERN LAKE MICHIGAN                      
   WESTERN LAKE HURON                      

EFFECTIVE THIS FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 100 PM UNTIL 600
PM EDT.

TORNADOES...HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS
TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.

THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS ALONG AND 55 STATUTE MILES NORTH AND
SOUTH OF A LINE FROM 15 MILES SOUTHWEST OF MANISTEE MICHIGAN TO 65
MILES SOUTHEAST OF OSCODA MICHIGAN.

MASS WHERE MUCAPES FROM 2000 TO 3000 J/KG. ISOLATED STORMS MAY
BECOME TORNADIC AS THEY MOVE ALONG WARM FRONT WHERE BOTH LIFT AND
LOW LEVEL WIND SHEAR WILL BE ENHANCED.

AVIATION...TORNADOES AND A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL
SURFACE AND ALOFT TO 2 INCHES.  EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE WIND
GUSTS TO 60 KNOTS.  A FEW CUMULONIMBI WITH MAXIMUM TOPS TO 500.
