SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF

   CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN FLORIDA                            
   ATLANTIC COASTAL WATERS                     

EFFECTIVE THIS MONDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 130 PM UNTIL 700
PM EDT.

HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70
MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.

THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS ALONG AND 45 STATUTE MILES
EITHER SIDE OF A LINE FROM 40 MILES WEST NORTHWEST OF MELBOURNE
FLORIDA TO 35 MILES SOUTH SOUTHWEST OF WEST PALM BEACH FLORIDA.

DISCUSSION...STRONG/SEVERETHUNDERSTORMS ARE DEVELOPING ALONG THE
COLD FRONT MOVING SEWD INTO THE CENTRAL PENINSULA.  AIR MASS AHEAD
OF THE FRONT IS QUITE UNSTABLE WITH MUCAPE ABOVE 3000 J/KG...WITH
MAXIMUM INSTABILITY NEAR THE EAST COAST WHERE SEA BREEZE FRONT IS
EXPECTED TO PERSIST.  SEVERE STORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP SEWD
ACROSS THE PENINSULA AS STRONGER NWLY FLOW ALOFT MOVES ACROSS THE
REGION.  


AVIATION...A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL SURFACE AND ALOFT
TO 2 INCHES.  EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE WIND GUSTS TO 60
