SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF

   CENTRAL AND EASTERN OKLAHOMA                           

EFFECTIVE THIS THURSDAY MORNING FROM 200 AM UNTIL 600 AM CDT.

HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 70
MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.

THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS ALONG AND 70 STATUTE MILES
EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 45 MILES NORTHWEST OF TULSA OKLAHOMA
TO 35 MILES WEST SOUTHWEST OF MCALESTER OKLAHOMA.

KT NWLY FLOW AT 500 MB.  SSWLY LOW LEVEL JET OF 40-50 KT IS
PROVIDING STRONG WARM ADVECTION LIFT INTO CENTRAL OKLAHOMA...AND AS
THE JET VEERS TO A MORE WESTERLY DIRECTION NEXT 3-4 HOURS IT WILL
SUPPORT CONTINUATION OF SEVERE THREAT INTO EASTERN OKLAHOMA.  
GIVEN ELEVATED NATURE OF THE CONVECTION...LARGE HAIL IS EXPECTED TO
BE THE PRIMARY THREAT.
