AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SHREVEPORT LA 300 AM CDT TUE MAY 2 2000 THIS MORNING SURFACE ANALYSIS INDICATED BOUNDARY FROM CENTRAL LA INTO SE TEXAS WHICH MCS HAS DEVELOPED AND MOVING EAST ALONG. THIS SYSTEM HAS A RICH GULF MOISTURE CONNECTION...DEW POINTS ALONG AND INLAND OF THE TEXAS COAST RANGED FROM 70 TO NEAR 75 DEGREES WITH READINGS IN LA FROM THE MID 60S TO 70. ANOTHER BOUNDARY...FROM PREVIOUS ACTIVITY MONDAY AND OVERNIGHT...EXTENDED FROM NORTH CENTRAL LA SOUTHWEST INTO THE EAST TEXAS LAKES AREA AND LOWER TOLEDO BEND COUNTRY. THUNDERSTORMS HAVE DEVELOPED ALONG THIS SYSTEM AS MID LEVEL VORT LOBE SWINGS THROUGH TEXAS AND INTO LA. FARTHER TO THE NORTHWEST...UPPER CUT OFF LOW OVER THE PANHANDLE OF TX/W OK MOVES SLOWLY SOUTH TOWARD THE RED RIVER AREA OF NORTHWEST TEXAS.
