THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SAN FRANCISCO HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  SOUTHERN SAN MATEO COUNTY IN CENTRAL CALIFORNIA
  SOUTHEASTERN SANTA CRUZ COUNTY IN CENTRAL CALIFORNIA

* HAS BEEN EXTENDED UNTIL 200 AM PST

* AT 1145 PM...THE PESCADERO RIVER IN SOUTHERN SAN MATEO COUNTY AND
  THE CORRALITOS CREEK IN SOUTHEASTERN SANTA CRUZ COUNTY
  CONTINUED OUT OF THEIR BANKS.

* ALTHOUGH RAIN RATES HAVE DECREASED TO LESS THAN A QUARTER INCH PER
  HOUR AND SMALL RIVERS AND STREAMS HAVE BEGUN TO SUBSIDE...THE
  PESCADERO RIVER AND CORRALITOS CREEK CONTINUE ABOVE FLOOD STAGE.
  BOTH STREAMS SHOULD FALL BELOW FLOOD STAGE WITHIN THE NEXT FEW
  HOURS.

* RAIN RATES WILL LIKELY INCREASE LATER TONIGHT AND RENEWED RISES
  ARE POSSIBLE IN THE WARNING AREA.


BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED...
ACT QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS
SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT
AT NIGHT TO TELL HOW MUCH WATER IS ON ROADS. MOTORISTS SHOULD NOT
DRIVE THROUGH WATER OF UNKNOWN DEPTH.
