750 PM CDT SUN APR 2 2000

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NASHVILLE HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  GILES COUNTY IN TENNESSEE
  THIS INCLUDES THE CITY OF PULASKI

* UNTIL 12 AM CDT

* AT 746 PM CDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A NARROW
BAND OF VERY HEAVY RAIN THAT STRETCHED FROM BRICK CHURCH TO PULASKI
TO PROSPECT AND BACK INTO NORTHEAST MISSISSIPPI.  THE STORMS ARE
MOVING NORTHEAST AT 35 MPH.

SINCE 600 PM CDT...RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF OVER 1 INCH HAVE OCCURRED
FROM PULASKI TO MINOR HILL.  GILES COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT
REPORTS SOME STANDING WATER IN PULASKI AS WELL AS SOME OF THE LOW
WATER BRIDGE CROSSINGS ACROSS SOUTHERN GILES COUNTY.  ANOTHER 1 TO
ONE AND ONE HALF INCHES IS EXPECTED DURING THE EVENING HOURS.  THIS
WILL LEAD TO SOME FLASH FLOODING.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR OCCURRING.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS SWIFTLY FLOWING WATERS OR WATERS OF UNKNOWN
DEPTH BY FOOT OR BY AUTOMOBILE. IF YOUR VEHICLE STALLS, ABANDON IT
IMMEDIATELY AND SEEK HIGHER GROUND.
