THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN JACKSON HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  RANKIN COUNTY IN CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI
  LEAKE COUNTY IN CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI
  HINDS COUNTY IN CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI
  MADISON COUNTY IN CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI

* UNTIL 200 AM CST

* AT 1215 AM CST...RADAR INDICATED THAT HEAVY RAIN CONTINUED TO MOVE 
NORTHEAST ACROSS CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI. RADAR ESTIMATES THAT RAINFALL 
IN EXCESS OF 5 INCHES HAS FALLEN OVER HINDS...MADISON...RANKIN...AND 
LEAKE COUNTIES DURING THE EVENING HOURS. NUMEROUS ROADS AND SEVERAL 
HOMES AND BUSINESSES HAVE BEEN FLOODED. 

RAIN WILL CONTINUE OVER THIS AREA THROUGH 2 AM...AND THIS WILL 
FURTHER AGGRAVATE THE SITUATION BY CAUSING STREAMS AND CREEKS TO 
OVERFLOW. 

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE 
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.
