THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN JACKSON HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  RANKIN COUNTY IN CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI
  HINDS COUNTY IN CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI
  MADISON COUNTY IN CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI

* UNTIL 1200 AM CST

* AT 1000 PM CST...WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED A LARGE AREA OF 
HEAVY RAIN OVER CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI. AS MUCH AS 5 TO 6 INCHES OF 
RAIN HAS FALLEN IN THE JACKSON METROPOLITAN AREA. REPORTS FROM LAW 
ENFORCEMENT AND CIVIL DEFENSE OFFICIALS INDICATE THAT NUMEROUS 
ROADWAYS AND SEVERAL HOMES HAVE FLOODED...AND SOME STREAMS WERE 
APPROACHING BANKFUL. 

HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CONTINUE THROUGH MIDNIGHT...FURTHER AGGRAVATING 
THE FLOODING PROBLEMS AND PUSHING SOME STREAMS AND CREEKS OUT OF 
THEIR BANKS.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE THROUGH AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE 
ROADWAY!
