THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN WICHITA HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  HARPER COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL KANSAS

* UNTIL 800 AM CDT.

* AT 200 AM CDT WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED THAT ALTHOUGH THE
THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING THE VERY HEAVY DOWNPOURS HAD MOVED OUT OF 
HARPER COUNTY...ADDITIONAL RAINFALL WILL CONTINUE THROUGHOUT THE 
EARLY MORNING HOURS.  HARPER COUNTY WAS ALREADY EXPERIENCING 
FLOODING PROBLEMS AND ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AND CONTINUED RUNOFF WILL 
ONLY COMPOUND THE SITUATION.  

THIS WARNING REPLACES THE EARLIER FLASH FLOOD WARNING ISSUED FOR 
HARPER COUNTY.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THE EARLIER STORMS WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF 
SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS...URBAN AREAS...HIGHWAYS...STREETS AND 
UNDERPASSES AS WELL AS OTHER DRAINAGE AREAS AND LOW LYING SPOTS. BE 
ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT...WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE 
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED... 
ACT QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT 
STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
