AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE GREENVILLE-SPARTANBURG SC
155 PM EDT TUE JUL 11 2000

STORMS DEVELOPING ALONG DIFFERENTIAL HEATING BOUNDARY THROUGH
WESTERN ZONES. MOISTURE POOLING AND HEATING INTO THE MID/UPR 90S
HAVE CREATED A BAND OF HIGH CAPE VALUES OVER 2500J. REST OF FA HAS
REMAINED MOSTLY CLOUDY AND HEATING HAS BEEN LIMITED. LAPS SOUNDINGS
SHOWING MID/UPR LEVELS DRYING WHICH MAY BE A BIT SUSPECT SINCE
CLOUDS REMAIN OVER MUCH OF THE AREA. NONETHELESS...CONVECTION
COMING OFF MOUNTAINS HAS NOT SURVIVED THE TRIP INTO THE PIEDMONT
REGION. WHILE WE CANNOT RULE OUT ISOLATED TRW THIS EVENING...
BELIEVE THAT MOST ACTIVITY OVER ALL BUT WESTERN ZONES WILL DISSIPATE
WITH LOSS OF HEATING. FRONT STILL LOOKS POISED TO DROP INTO NC LATE
TONIGHT THEN SLIDE SLOWLY SW INTO FA BY WED AFTERNOON. THIS PUSH
COULD BE STRONGER DEPENDING OF DEVELOPMENT OF OH VALLEY MCS...AS HAS
BEEN THE CASE THE LAST 2 NIGHTS. THIS ADDED PUSH WILL BRING FRONT
TO BISECT AREA WED NIGHT AND THURSDAY...PUTTING BEST CONVERGENCE
BOUNDARY IN LAST COUPLE OF DAYS IN THE AREA. FLOW REMAINS WEAKLY
SHEARED AND MID LEVEL LAPSE RATES NEVER REALLY BECOME IMPRESSIVE.
HOWEVER...HIGH BOUNDARY LAYER MOISTER AND LOW LEVEL FORCING WILL
DOMINATE...EVEN WITH MINOR IMPULSES PASSING THROUGH IN NWLY FLOW
ALOFT. SLIGHTLY BETTER ORGANIZED CONVECTION ALONG THE CONVERGENCE
ZONE COULD PRODUCE SOME MARGINAL SEVERE WEATHER FROM WINDS AND
HAIL. WILL GO WITH HIGH CHANCE POPS WED THRU THUR ACROSS MOST OF
FA. TEMPERATURES SHOULD CHANGE LITTLE WED BUT WITH FROPA WED
NIGHT...COULD SEE A DROP OF 2 TO 5 DEGREES BY THURS. DELGADO
