SOUTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA/NORTH CENTRAL KANSAS FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HASTINGS NE 251 PM CDT MON JUN 12 2000 ...PRECIP CHANCES AND FRONTAL TIMING MAIN CONCERNS... LAST NIGHTS CONVECTION WELL EAST OF AREA NOW LEAVING CLEAR SKIES IN ITS WAKE. STRONG SUBSIDENCE BEHIND WAVE LEADING TO STABLE CONDITIONS WILL SLOWLY DESTABILIZE THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING WITH SURFACE HEATING AND MOISTURE ADVECTION. AS THE MAIN TROUGH CONTINUES TO PUNCH THROUGH THE NORTHERN ROCKIES TODAY LEE SIDE TROUGHING UNDERWAY. THE FIRST ROUND OF CONVECTION...WHICH IS ALREADY UNDERWAY...SHOULD MOVE EASTWARD THIS EVENING AND OVERNIGHT WHERE CONDITIONS ARE MORE UNSTABLE.
