THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DES MOINES HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  NORTHEASTERN MONROE COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL IOWA

* UNTIL 800 PM

* AT 547 PM...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
  THUNDERSTORMS WITH FLASH FLOOD PRODUCING RAINS OVER EXTREME
  NORTHEASTERN MONROE COUNTY...OR ABOUT 19 MILES NORTHWEST OF
  OTTUMWA.  THE AREA OF HEAVY RAIN WAS MOVING EAST SOUTHEAST...AND
  REPEATING OVER THE SAME AREA.

* THUNDERSTORMS ARE CONTINUOUSLY REDEVELOPING OVER THE WARNING
  AREA...RESULTING IN EXCESSIVE RAINFALL. RAINFALL RATES WILL AVERAGE
  1 TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR. THIS WILL PRODUCE FLASH FLOODING ALONG
  CREEKS AND SMALL STREAMS.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.
