FLASH FLOOD WARNING
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE STATE COLLEGE PA
1030 PM EDT SUN JUN 25 2000

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN STATE COLLEGE PA HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  SOUTHERN LEBANON COUNTY.
  LANCASTER COUNTY.

* UNTIL 200 AM EDT.

* AT 1030 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
  THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAINFALL OVER SOUTHERN LEBANON
  AND PORTIONS OF LANCASTER COUNTIES.

SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS ARE PRODUCING TORRENTIAL RAINFALL IN THE
WARNED AREA. RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLASH 
FLOODING IN LEBANON AND LANCASTER COUNTIES.  SMALLER STREAMS AND
CREEKS ARE RISING RAPIDLY AND COULD EXCEED THEIR BANKS LATE THIS 
EVENING. 

RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 3 TO OVER 4 INCHES OF RAIN HAVE BEEN REPORTED. 
THIS HEAVY RAINFALL HAS PRODUCED STREET FLOODING IN THE WARNING 
AREA. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL OF 1 TO 2 INCHES IS POSSIBLE OVER THE
NEXT SEVERAL HOURS. RAINFALL REPORTS OF OVER 4 INCHES WERE REPORTED 
IN MYERSTOWN AND LITITZ.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED. MOVE TO
HIGHER GROUND.
