SOUTHERN HERKIMER COUNTY IN EASTERN NEW YORK * UNTIL 300 AM EDT SATURDAY * AT 745 PM EDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED VERY HEAVY RAIN IN THE TOWN OF STARK...EAST OF JORDANVILLE. SEVERAL THUNDERSTORMS MOVED ACROSS THE SOUTHERN PART OF HERKIMER COUNTY LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND THIS EVENING. DOPPLER RADAR RAINFALL ESTIMATES WERE IN EXCESS OF THREE INCHES IN THE TOWNS OF STARK AND WARREN IN SOUTHEAST HERKIMER COUNTY. LIKE AMOUNTS WERE FOUND IN THE TOWN OF OHIO...CLOSER TO THE CENTRAL PART OF HERKIMER COUNTY. AT 740 PM FRIDAY EVENING...A SKYWARN SPOTTER OBSERVED OVER AN INCH OF RAINFALL IN ILION IN JUST 35 MINUTES. MORE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE CROSSING THE SAME AREA UNTIL NEAR MIDNIGHT ...GIVING STILL MORE HEAVY RAIN...WITH MORE THAN TWO ADDITIONAL INCHES EXPECTED. * OTHER LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE POLAND...NEWPORT...MOHAWK... MIDDLEVILLE...FRANKFORT AND THE VILLAGE OF HERKIMER. A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR OCCURRING. IF YOU ARE IN THE WARNING AREA MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IMMEDIATELY.
