000 WGUS51 KALY 142237 FFWALY NYC035-057-150230- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ALBANY NY 637 PM EDT FRI JUL 14 2000 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ALBANY HAS ISSUED A * FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR... FULTON COUNTY IN EASTERN NEW YORK MONTGOMERY COUNTY IN EASTERN NEW YORK * UNTIL 1030 PM EDT * AT 630 PM EDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED SEVERAL THUNDERSTORMS HAD MOVED ACROSS MONTGOMERY AND FULTON COUNTIES LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY THIS EVENING. DOPPLER RADAR RAINFALL ESTIMATES WERE IN EXCESS OF THREE INCHES BETWEEN GLOVERSVILLE AND CAROGA LAKE IN FULTON COUNTY. SIMILAR AMOUNTS WERE ALSO SHOWN IN THE TOWN OF ROOT IN CENTRAL MONTGOMERY COUNTY...AS WELL AS IN THE TOWNS OF MINDEN...SAINT JOHNSVILLE AND THE WESTERN PART OF THE TOWN OF PALATINE IN THE WESTERN PART OF MONTGOMERY COUNTY. THE FULTON COUNTY SHERIFF INDICATED THAT ROADS WERE WASHED OUT AS A RESULT OF THIS RAINFALL BETWEEN GLOVERSVILLE AND CAROGA LAKE. A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR OCCURRING. IF YOU ARE IN THE WARNING AREA MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IMMEDIATELY. RESIDENTS LIVING ALONG STREAMS AND CREEKS SHOULD TAKE IMMEDIATE PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS SWIFTLY FLOWING WATERS OR WATERS OF UNKNOWN DEPTH BY FOOT OR BY AUTOMOBILE.
