THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ALBANY HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  DUTCHESS COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL NEW YORK
  LITCHFIELD COUNTY IN NORTHERN CONNECTICUT
  BENNINGTON COUNTY IN SOUTHERN VERMONT
  WINDHAM COUNTY IN SOUTHERN VERMONT
  BERKSHIRE COUNTY IN WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS

* UNTIL 530 AM EDT

* AT 1130 PM EDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED VERY HEAVY
  RAIN ACROSS MUCH OF BENNINGTON...WINDHAM AND BERKSHIRE COUNTIES. THIS
  AREA OF VERY HEAVY RAIN WILL GRADUALLY SLIDE SOUTH OVERNIGHT.
  RAIN...HEAVY AT TIMES...WILL CONTINUE UNTIL WELL AFTER MIDNIGHT ACROSS
  THE AREA. RAINFALL TOTALS HAVE ALREADY REACHED 1.5 TO 3.0 INCHES WITH
  ANOTHER 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN POSSIBLE. THIS WILL RESULT IN MANY
  CREEKS AND STREAMS RISING TO AT OR ABOVE BANKFULL. IN ADDITION
  THERE IS A POSSIBILITY OF MUDSLIDES AND SOME ROAD WASHOUTS.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT
QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY
IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
