WEST CENTRAL COCHISE COUNTY IN SOUTHEASTERN ARIZONA TEXAS CANYON ALONG I-10 * UNTIL 650 PM MST * AT 545 PM...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED SEVERAL SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS BETWEEN TEXAS CANYON AND BENSON...AS WELL AS BETWEEN BENSON AND ST. DAVID. * BETWEEN 2 AND 3 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN IN AN HOUR FROM JUST EAST OF BENSON INTO THE TEXAS CANYON AREA. THIS AREA IS HIGHLY PRONE TO FLASH FLOODING. SOUTHEAST ARIZONA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TUCSON AZ 230 PM MST SUN JUL 25 1999 SYNOPSIS...HIGH PRESSURE ALOFT WILL SHIFT WESTWARD FROM THE CENTRAL PLAINS TO NEAR THE 4 CORNERS AREA BY MONDAY. FAIRLY STRONG SOUTHERLY WINDS ALOFT OVER SOUTHEAST ARIZONA ARE FOCUSING STORMS IN A FEW LINES. THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY THIS EVENING WILL LIKELY REMAIN FAIRLY CLOSE TO THE MOUNTAINS AND END FAIRLY RAPIDLY TOWARD SUNSET. AS EASTERLY WINDS INCREASE OVER THE AREA MONDAY AND TUESDAY EXPECT TO SEE INCREASING THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY EACH DAY. DISCUSSION...MAIN THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY FOCUSED IN A LINE FROM NORTHWEST TO SOUTHEAST ACROSS KITT PEAK. ISOLATED STORMS ELSEWHERE.
