EASTERN OKLAHOMA/NORTHWEST ARKANSAS FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TULSA OK 350 PM CDT TUE JUN 1 1999 PROBLEM(S) OF THE DAY: WILL STORMS BE SUPERCELLS OR NOT? POPS RADAR IS NOW SHOWING CONVECTIVE INITIATION ALONG THE FRONT NEAR I-44 IN NE OK. TSRA SHOULD CONTINUE DEVELOPING SOUTHWEST ALONG THE FRONT DURING NEXT HOUR OR TWO. WITH SUCH AN EXTREMELY UNSTABLE ATMOSPHERE...TORNADOES ARE A POSSIBILITY WITH ANY STORM THAT FORMS...THOUGH MORE FAVORABLE BACKED WINDS ARE IN SE OK. TEMPS IN SE OK HAVE REACHED THE LOW 90S...SO CONVECTIVE TEMP IS NEAR AND THE CAP SHOULD BREAK SOON. SPC HAS CALLED TO SAY THEY ARE CONSIDERING TORNADO WATCH THERE IN NEXT HOUR OR SO. EVENING SHIFT MAY WANT TO MONITOR. AN UNSTABLE ATMOSPHERE WILL PERSIST ON WED AS THE FRONT LINGERS AROUND THE RED RIVER. WILL INCLUDE POPS EVERYWHERE TMRW WITH THE HIGHER POPS IN THE SOUTH WITH BETTER MOISTURE AND CONVERGENCE.
