THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN RALEIGH HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  EDGECOMBE COUNTY IN NORTH CAROLINA

* UNTIL 1215 PM EDT

* AT 810 AM EDT... AREA LAW ENFORCEMENT INDICATED WIDESPREAD
  FLOODING IN THE COUNTY FROM OVERNIGHT HEAVY RAINFALL WITH MORE
  HEAVY RAINFALL ON THE WAY.

* HEAVY RAINFALL OVERNIGHT HAS RESULTED IN NUMEROUS ROADS IN THE
  COUNTY TO EXPERIENCE HIGH WATER. AN AREA OF MODERATE TO HEAVY
  RAINFALL WILL MOVE ACROSS EDGECOMBE COUNTY THROUGH 11 AM.
  RAINFALL RATES OF 1 TO 1.5 INCHES PER HOUR ARE LIKELY. THIS
  ADDED RAINFALL WILL CAUSE SIGNIFICANT WATER RISES ALONG
  CREEKS AND STREAMS.

DON'T DRIVE ACROSS FLOODED ROADS! MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN
AUTOMOBILES.

CENTRAL NC AT 48H. ALL MODELS STILL ADVERTISE GOOD VEERING OF LOW
LEVEL WINDS THROUGH THE PERIOD. ALL ALSO AGREE ON LOW LEVEL JET
SUPPORT MOVING IN WITH VORT WEDNESDAY. WITH RELATIVELY GOOD
CONTINUITY BETWEEN MODELS AND OVER A COUPLE OF RUNS...WILL ACCEPT
THIS FEATURE AS REALITY AND SIGNIFICANTLY BOOST POPS.

WEAKENING SC VORT FCST TO MOVE N INTO NC TODAY BY NGM WHILE AVN
REJECTING THIS IDEA. GOOD VEERING OF WINDS IN LOW LEVELS FCST AND
DEEP MOISTURE PERSISTS. NOT IMPRESSED WITH VORT HARD TO FIGHT HIGH
POP NUMBERS ON NUMERIC GUIDANCE. THERE DOES SEEM TO BE A LULL IN
DYNAMICS OVERNIGHT...ENOUGH TO DROP POPS ALL THE WAY BACK TO LOW
