NORTHWESTERN LAKE COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL OREGON * UNTIL 535 PM PDT * AT 430 PM PDT... MEDFORD DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 90 MILES NORTHWEST OF LAKEVIEW OR NEAR FORT ROCK... SOUTHWEST OREGON/NORTHERN CALIFORNIA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MEDFORD OR 230 PM PDT SUN AUG 01 1999 OFF SHORE LOW WILL CONTINUE TO DOMINATE THE WEATHER PATTERN INTO THE NEAR FUTURE WITHOUT HUGE CHANGES TO WEATHER WE HAVE BEEN HAVING. MODEL SOLUTIONS SEEM FAIRLY REASONABLE...THE CWA WILL PRETTY MUCH REMAIN UNDER A SOUTHERLY FLOW WITHOUT A LOT OF MOISTURE. CONVECTION SEEMS A LITTLE MORE LIKELY LATER IN THE WEEK IF THE SOMEWHAT MORE MOIST SOUTHERLY FLOW THE PROGS WOULD ADVERTISE COMES ABOUT. APPEARS TO BE A FEW RIPPLES ROTATING AROUND THE OFF SHORE LOW AND ONE OF THESE MAY BE WHAT IS KICKING OFF SOME CONVECTION IN SOUTH CENTRAL ORE THIS AFTERNOON. FEATURE MOVING THROUGH CALIF APPEARS TO BE ON A TRACK INTO WESTERN PORTIONS OF THE GREAT BASIN AND LOOKS LIKE IT MAY NOT AFFECT CWA UNLESS IT TURNS MORE NORTHWARD. BG .MFR...NONE.
