THUNDERSTORM WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN OVER EXTREME NORTHWESTERN LEA
COUNTY 15 MILES SOUTH OF CAPROCK MOVING NORTHEAST AT 15 MPH.
RADAR ESTIMATES THAT BETWEEN 3 TO 4 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN OVER
NORTHWESTERN LEA COUNTY...GENERALLY WEST OF STATE HIGHWAY 457 AND SOUTH
OF U.S. 380. MOTORISTS DRIVING ON HIGHWAY 457 SOUTH OF U.S. 380 SHOULD
EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION AS FLASH FLOODING WILL BE POSSIBLE EARLY THIS
MORNING.
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE

HOWEVER WITH NUMEROUS OUTFLOW BOUNDARIES IN PLACE FROM PREVIOUS STORMS...WILL LEAVE A SLIGHT CHANCE WERE NOTED IN CASE REDEVELOPMENT OCCURS. FOR SE/NM AND CULBERSON COUNTY...WILL RAISE POPS THERE A CAT OR TWO TO ACCOUNT FOR STORMS AFFECTING THIS AREA. MOVEMENT IS NORTH ALONG THE EAST EDGE OF A MID/UPPER LEVEL MOISTURE AXIS EXTENDING FROM MEXICO. ANOTHER CONCERN ARE RISES EXPECTED ALONG THE RIO GRANDE. WE WILL MONITOR THIS SITUATION AND HAVE ANOTHER RIVER STATEMENT ON THE WAY.
