TXZ021>044-302000- AREA THUNDERSTORM OUTLOOK NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LUBBOCK TX 1145 AM CDT FRI APR 30 1999 THERE IS A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS MAINLY OVER THE WESTERN SOUTH PLAINS THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT. A MOIST SOUTHEAST LOW LEVEL FLOW WILL CONTINUE OVER THE AREA TODAY AS AN UPPER LEVEL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM REMAINS OVER THE DESERT SOUTHWEST. THUNDERSTORMS WILL DEVELOP AND MOVE NORTHWARD ACROSS THE WESTERN SOUTH PLAINS THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT. A FEW STORMS WILL HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE LARGE HAIL. IN ADDITION LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL CAN BE EXPECTED. SPOTTER ACTIVATION MAY BE NECESSARY LATER THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING FOR AREAS GENERALLY WEST OF A SPRINGLAKE TO BROWNFIELD LINE.
