AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE GOODLAND KS 203 PM MDT SUN JUL 25 1999 ATTM SATL WAS SHOWING A FEW CU DEVELOPING ACRS THE W CWA. THE LATEST RUC SHOWED CAA ACROS THE MID LVLS OVR THE W FA AND COMBINING THIS WITH DAYTIME HEATING EXPECT THIS CU TO INCREASE IN COVERAGE THIS AFTN. AFTER THIS MORNINGS ANALYSIS WILL LEAN TOWARD THE NGM SOLN WHICH INDICATED THE LOCATION OF THIS EARLY MORNINGS PCPN BETTR. ATTM A THERMAL LOW WAS OVR GLD AND A SFC COLD FRONT WAS OVR NW NEBRASKA THAT WAS MOVG SOUTH AND WILL APPROACH OUR NORTHERN CWA THIS LATE AFTN. A 5H/VORT LONG WAVE TROUGH REMAINS ACROS THE FA AND AS THE SFC COLD FRONT BECOMES STATIONARY OVR THE N CWA BY EARLY EVENING...TSRA SHUD BEGIN TO DEVELOP AHEAD OF THE FRONT AND PERSIST INTO THE EVENING. AFTER ANALYZING THE 12Z/DDC SOUNDING WHICH SHOWED AN INCREASED CAP BUT AFTER MODIFICATION THE CAP DOES BREAK AND ACTIVITY SHUD DEVELOP A LITTLE LATER TODAY THAN YDAY. ACTIVITY MAY TAKE ALITTLE LONGER TO DEVELOP OVR THE C/E CWA AS THE RUC SHOWED SOME MID LVL WARM AIR PERSISTING. ALSO AS THE FRONT DRIFTS SOUTH OF THE NORTHERN CWA TONIGHT UPSLOPE NORTHEAST WINDS WILL PREVAIL AND SKIES SHUD BECOME MOSTLY CLOUDY. THE FRONT DRIFTS SOUTH ACROSS THE CENTRAL CWA EARLY MONDAY AND APPEARS TO WASH OUT. SFC WINDS BECOME EAST UPSLOPE ACROSS MOST OF THE CWA AND EXPECT LOW LVL CLOUD COVER TO INC ACROSS THE FA DURING THE MORNING HOURS THAT CUD BE SLOW TO BURN OFF. A 5H/VORT MAX OVR SOUTH CENTRAL COLORADO INTENSIFIES AND MOVES INTO E CO LATE MONDAY. THE WASHED OUT FRONT DEVELOPS INTO A WARM FRONT AND MOVES NORTH INTO NEBRASKA. PWATS INCREASE AS MOISTR ADVTS NORTH INTO THE TRI-STATE AREA ON SE WINDS. NGM AND THE ETA TIME SECTIONS OVR GLD SHOW VERY IMPRESSIVE OMEGA FIELDS WITH INCREASING MOISTR ALOFT. 7H/MIXR MOISTR WAS FORECAST TO BE OVR 8 G/KG OVR MOST OF THE FA SO WILL INC POPS DURING THIS PERIOD. MID LVL CLOUD COVER REMAINS QUITE EXTENSIVE ACROSS THE CWA TUESDAY. ALSO A LINGERING 5H/VORT MAX CONTS ACROSS THE NORTHERN FA THEREFORE WILL LEAVE POPS ACROSS THE CWA. THCKNS DECREASES LATE MONDAY INTO TUESDAY AND WILL LWR AFTN HIGH TMPS FROM PREVIOUS DAYS. THE EXTENDED HAS THE 5H/HIGH EDGING INTO COLORADO WITH DRIER AIR MVG INTO THE FA WEDNESDAY. THIS HIGH PUSHES INTO KANSAS THURSDAY AND EXPECT A VERY WARM TO HOT DAY DRY DAY. THE HIGH DRIFTS EAST FRIDAY AND RETURN MOISTR FROM THE GULF TRIES TO ENTER THE FA FROM THE SOUTH. NEVER THE LESS ABOVE NORMAL TEMPS SHUD PERSIST INTO THE END OF THE WEEK. .GLD...NONE. VPAPOL
