HE SLIGHT RISK AREA IS NORTH AND EAST OF AN ATHENS...BROWNWOOD...BRECKENRIDGE...BOWIE LINE. THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF PARIS...SHERMAN...CORSICANA...MINERAL WELLS... JACKSBORO AND THE DALLAS/FORT WORTH METROPLEX. THE MAIN THREAT WILL BE VERY LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING DOWNBURST WINDS. LATE THIS MORNING...A WEAK COLD FRONT STRETCHED FROM OKLAHOMA CITY TO WEST OF WICHITA FALLS TO MIDLAND. THIS FRONT HAS MOVED VERY LITTLE DURING THE MORNING HOURS BUT IT IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN A SLOW EASTWARD PUSH THIS AFTERNOON. THE FRONT WILL SERVE AS A FOCUS FOR THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT. THE STRENGTH OF THE CAPPING INVERSION HAS BEEN WEAKENING THIS MORNING...ESPECIALLY ALONG A LINE FROM BOWIE TO BRECKENRIDGE TO BROWNWOOD. THIS MORNINGS MODEL RUNS FORECAST THE CAP TO CONTINUE WEAKENING ALONG THIS SAME LINE THROUGH LATE AFTERNOON. ANY THUNDERSTORMS THAT CAN BREAK THE CAP WILL QUICKLY BECOME SEVERE. THE PRIMARY THUNDERSTORM THREAT WILL BE FROM VERY LARGE HAIL... POSSIBLY UP TO BASEBALL SIZE...AND DAMAGING WINDS. FORECAST WIND PROFILES ARE ALSO FAVORABLE FOR SUPERCELLS...SO TORNADOES CAN NOT BE RULED OUT.
