TXZ171>173-183>194-202>209-217>225-228-022300- HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK...UPDATED NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO TX 1110 AM CDT SUN MAY 2 1999 AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE COMBINED WITH ABUNDANT LOW LEVEL MOISTURE WILL PRODUCE A THREAT OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE TEXAS HILL COUNTRY AND SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS THIS AFTERNOON AND THIS EVENING. ALTHOUGH INSTABILITY AND VERTICAL WIND SHEAR WILL BE SUFFICIENT FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS, THE LACK OF ENOUGH DAYTIME HEATING WILL LIKELY PREVENT THESE THUNDERSTORMS FROM REACHING SEVERE LEVELS. A FEW STRONG STORMS COULD PRODUCE VERY HEAVY RAINFALL, SMALL HAIL AND WIND GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH. RAINFALL TOTALS FROM SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS THIS AFTERNOON AND THIS EVENING WILL AVERAGE ONE QUARTER TO ONE HALF INCH WITH ISOLATED ONE INCH AMOUNTS POSSIBLE.
