000 TTAA00 KEWX 101842 FFWSAT TXC053-299-102145- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO TX 137 PM CDT MON MAY 10 1999 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A * FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR... LLANO COUNTY BURNET COUNTY * UNTIL 445 PM CDT * RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING RAINFALL RATES OF UP TO 2 INCHES AN HOUR ACROSS LLANO AND BURNET COUNTIES. ALTHOUGH THE STORMS WERE MOVING EAST AT 30 MPH...HEAVY RAINFALL IS EXPECTED TO PERSIST FOR THE NEXT 2 TO 3 HOURS. EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THESE STORMS WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS...HIGHWAYS AND UNDERPASSES. ADDITIONALLY...COUNTRY ROADS AND FARMLANDS ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS AND OTHER LOW LYING AREAS ARE SUBJECT TO FLASH FLOODING. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS SAFELY.
