THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TAUNTON HAS ISSUED A

* FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  HARTFORD COUNTY IN CONNECTICUT
  THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF...BRISTOL...HARTFORD...
  NEW BRITAIN AND SOUTHINGTON 

* UNTIL 900 PM EST

* AT 1200 PM EST...RIVER GAGE REPORTS INDICATED THAT STREAMS WERE
  RISING SIGNIFICANTLY.  ANOTHER AREA OF HEAVY RAIN WILL OVERSPREAD
  MUCH OF THE COUNTY BY 1230 PM WITH MINOR FLOODING OF SMALL RIVERS
  AND STREAMS LIKELY.

THE QUINNIPIAC RIVER AT SOUTHINGTON AT NOON WAS AT 3.1 FEET WHICH IS 
JUST ONE HALF FOOT FROM FLOOD STAGE.  ANOTHER HALF INCH OF RAIN WILL 
FALL OVER HARTFORD COUNTY THIS AFTERNOON PUSHING THE QUINNIPIAC 
RIVER OVER ITS BANKS...LASTING THROUGH THE EVENING.  OTHER SMALL 
STREAMS IN THE COUNTY MAY ALSO EXPERIENCE FLOODING AS THE AFTERNOON 
PROGRESSES.

A FLOOD WARNINJG MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR OCCURRING.  IF YOU
ARE IN A FLOOD PRONE LOCATION BE PREPARED TO MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
