THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BIRMINGHAM HAS ISSUED A...

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  ETOWAH COUNTY... IN NORTHERN ALABAMA.

* UNTIL 535 PM CDT

* AT 400 PM CDT... NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A
  CLUSTER OF THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN IN THE CENTRAL PART OF
  ETOWAH COUNTY...ESPECIALLY AROUND GADSDEN AND ITS SUBURBS.  THE
  STORMS WERE DRIFTING SLOWLY SOUTH.

* RADAR ESTIMATES OF RAINFALL SHOW AS MUCH AS 3 INCHES OF RAIN HAS
  FALLEN IN AND AROUND GADSDEN IN THE LAST HOUR.  THERE HAVE ALSO BEEN
  REPORTS OF FLOODED ROADS IN THE CITY OF GADSDEN.  ADDITIONAL RAINFALL
  OVER THE NEXT HOUR WILL ADD TO THE FLOODING POTENTIAL.

DON'T DRIVE ACROSS FLOODED ROADS! MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN
AUTOMOBILES.
