RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDING FROM NEAR LAUGHLIN AND BULLHEAD CITY TO NEAR CHLORIDE IN CENTRAL MOHAVE COUNTY. THESE STORMS WILL MOVE THROUGH BULLHEAD CITY...NEEDLES...OATMAN AND KINGMAN AND MAY PRODUCE WIND GUSTS TO 65 MPH ALONG WITH HEAVY RAIN AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING. MOJAVE DESERT/SOUTHERN GREAT BASIN AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LAS VEGAS NV 845 PM PDT SUN AUG 30 1998 SYNOPSIS...LOW LEVEL MOISTURE WILL REMAIN ACROSS THE SOUTHERN GREAT BASIN AND MOJAVE DESERT THROUGH THE EARLY PART OF THIS WEEK. THIS WILL RESULT IN A CHANCE FOR AFTERNOON AND EVENING THUNDERSTORMS EACH DAY. AT THE SAME TIME...A RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE WILL REMAIN OVER THE AREA KEEPING TEMPERATURES WARMER THAN NORMAL. DISCUSSION...SEVERE WEATHER CONTINUES IN AREA THIS EVENING. SATELLITE IMAGERY CLEARLY INDICATING DRYIER AIR WORKING INTO MUCH OF CALIFORNIA AND WESTERN NEVADA. THIS BOUNDARY WAS LIKELY ENHANCING CONVECTION OVER CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN NEVADA THIS EVENING WI0TH NUMEROUS REPORTS OF WIND DAMAGE IN PAHRUMP AREA AND ALSO GUSTS TO 70 MPH AT LAS VEGAS BAY MARINA AT LAKE MEAD.
