THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SHREVEPORT HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  500 AM CST
FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS...
 
IN NORTHEAST TEXAS
 
   ...CASS COUNTY...MARION COUNTY
 
AT 150 AM CST DOPPLER RADAR IN SHREVEPORT INDICATED SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAINFALL WITH AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 3
INCHES PER HOUR OVER MARION AND CASS COUNTIES. THE HEAVY RAINS
EXTENDED IN A 20 MILE WIDE BAND FROM NEAR ATLANTA IN CASS COUNTY
TO LAKE OF THE PINES IN MARION COUNTY AND THEN TO NEAR LONGVIEW IN
GREGG COUNTY. THE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING TO THE
NORTHEAST AT NEAR 25 MPH AND CONTINUED TO DEVELOP AND SPREAD OVER
THE SAME GENERAL AREAS.
 
THE HEAVY RAINS WILL PRODUCE RAPID WATER RUNOFF AND RESULT IN FLASH
FLOODING.
 
MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.8 DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED
IMMEDIATELY.

STORMS CONTINUE TO DEVELOP IN CENTRAL TX AND MOVING EAST NORTHEAST.
CURRENTLY ONLY ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS ARE LOCATED IN NORTHEAST TEXAS
BUT AN INCREASE IS EXPECTED LATER TONIGHT.  INVITATIONS HAVE BEEN SENT
OUT TO THE MIDNIGHT SHIFT FOR A THUNDEROUS PARTY.  SO UNTIL THEN WILL
ONLY DO A MINOR DRESSING TO THE FORECAST.
