THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN RALEIGH HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR
  ANSON COUNTY

* UNTIL 935 PM EST

* SOME AREAS AND STREAMS THAT MAY BE AFFECTED ARE:

  WADESBORO

* LIGHT TO MODERATE RAIN HAS BEEN FALLING OVER THE SOUTHERN PIEDMONT
  FOR THE PAST SEVERAL HOURS. WEATHER RADAR ESTIMATES THAT BETWEEN
  ONE AND ONE AND A HALF INCHES OF RAIN HAVE FALLEN OVER PORTIONS
  OF ANSON COUNTY DURING THE PAST COUPLE OF HOURS. AS A
  RESULT...ANSON COUNTY OFFICIALS ARE REPORTING SEVERAL ROADS IN
  THE COUNTY ARE UNDER WATER. RAINS OVER THE AREA WILL TAPER OFF
  OVER THE NEXT FEW HOURS...HOWEVER FLOODING WILL CONTINUE TO POSE
  A PROBLEM UNTIL FLOOD WATERS HAVE TIME TO RECEDE.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLASH FLOODING.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUHR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED
QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
