  DESCHUTES COUNTY IN CENTRAL OREGON

* UNTIL 1220 AM PDT

* AT 1130 PM PDT... SPOTTERS REPORTED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 30
  MILES SOUTH OF BEND OR 12 MILES EAST OF PAULINA LAKE MOVING
  NORTHEAST AT 10 MPH. WINDS OF 60 MPH HAVE BEEN REPORTED WITH
  THIS STORM.

* THIS STORM IS EXPECTED TO REMAIN IN RURAL AREAS.

CONVECTION IS NOW FIRING UP OVER CENTRAL OREGON IN RESPONSE TO
DYNAMICS FROM SHORTWAVE NOW MOVING INTO WESTERN OREGON AT THIS
TIME.  MODELS SEEM TO BE IN BETTER AGREEMENT TONIGHT AND AGREE WITH
CURRENT SATELLITE IMAGERY.  A CONCERN WITH THIS SYSTEM IS THE
CONTINUED VERY LOW HUMIDITES IN CENTRAL AND EASTERN OREGON AND
SPOTTER REPORTS OF GUSTY DOWNDRAFT WINDS WITH VERY LITTLE RAINFALL
BUT SUBSTANTIAL LIGHTNING ACTIVITY IN CENTRAL OREGON WITH THESE
THUNDERSTORMS.  AS A RESULT ISSUED A RED FLAG WARNING FOR FIRE
WEATHER FOR TONIGHT.  12Z NGM GIVES KPDT OVER 3 TENTHS OF AN INCH
OF PRECIP...WHICH IS LIKELY WAY OVER DONE.  AVN/ETA ARE MUCH DRYER
THOUGH 850MB-500MB MOISTURE IS MUCH BETTER WITH THIS SYSTEM THAN
PREVIOUS.  THINK CWA WILL GET SOME LIGHT PRECIP...BUT THAT IS ALL.
ATMOSPHERE STAYS UNSTABLE SUNDAY WITH ENOUGH MOISTURE REMAINING TO
CONTINUE POPS...ESPECIALLY IN NE OREGON/SE WASHINGTON MOUNTAINS
WITH UPSLOPE NORTHWEST WINDS.  WEAK SHORT WAVING RIDGING TAKES
PLACE BEFORE NEXT SYSTEM VORTICITY MAXIMUM MONDAY.  CWA STAYS IN
MEAN TROUGH PATTERN THROUGH EXTENDED.  RSC.
