SEVERE WEATHER OUTLOOK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OMAHA/VALLEY NE

...SEVERE WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR EASTERN NEBRASKA AND SOUTHWEST IOWA...

SPOTTER ACTION...
STORM SPOTTER ACTIVATION WILL LIKELY NEED TO BE ACTIVATED LATER THIS
THIS AFTERNOON OVER NORTHEAST NEBRASKA. STORM SPOTTER ACTIVATION MAY BE
REQUIRED LATER THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT OVER THE REST OF EASTERN
NEBRASKA AND SOUTHWEST IOWA.

DISCUSSION...
A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WAS OVER NORTH-CENTRAL NEBRASKA WITH A WARM FRONT
EXTENDING SOUTHEAST INTO SOUTHWEST IOWA. THUNDERSTORMS OVER SOUTH
DAKOTA WILL LIKELY DEVELOP SOUTHWARD INTO NORTHEAST NEBRASKA THIS
AFTERNOON. THESE WILL CONTINUE TO DEVELOP OVER THE REST OF EASTERN
NEBRASKA AND SOUTHWEST IOWA THIS EVENING AND TONIGHT. DUE TO AN
EXTREMELY UNSTABLE AIRMASS OVER THE REGION...ANY THUNDERSTORMS THAT DO
DEVELOP HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE SEVERE WEATHER INCLUDING
TORNADOES. THE OTHER PROBLEM WILL BE THE POTENTIAL FOR HEAVY RAINFALL
AND FLOODING.
