935 PM CDT THU JUL 30 1998

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MEMPHIS HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  HENRY COUNTY IN WESTERN TENNESSEE

* UNTIL 1130 PM CDT

* AT 925 PM CDT... RADAR INDICATED HEAVY RAIN HAD FALLEN FROM NEAR
PURYEAR TO BUCHANAN TO PARIS WITH AMOUNTS BETWEEN 2 AND 4 INCHES.
THE RAIN WAS MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 15 MILES AN HOUR AND WILL MOVE
EAST OF HENRY COUNTY SHORTLY. HOWEVER CONTINUED RUNOFF FROM THE
STORMS WILL LIKLEY CAUSE FLASH FLOODING. STORM SPOTTERS REPORTED
THAT 3.5 INCHES OF RAIN HAD FALLEN IN THE  WHITLOCK AREA BY 925
PM.

.BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE
THE DANGERS OF FLASH FLOODING. IF FLOODING IS OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY.
MOVE UP TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO
FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
