THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ST LOUIS HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  MONITEAU COUNTY IN CENTRAL MISSOURI

* UNTIL 345 PM CDT

* RAINFALL IS PERSISTING OVER CENTRAL MISSOURI EARLY THIS AFTERNOON.
  ALTHOUGH THE RAIN THIS AFTERNOON IS NOT EXPECTED TO BE AS HEAVY AS
  THE RAINFALL OF THIS MORNING...IT WILL CAUSE EXISTING FLOODING
  PROBLEMS TO LINGER INTO MID AFTERNOON.

* ADDITIONAL RAINFALLS WILL LIKELY CONTINUE THE FLOODING PROBLEMS
  ALONG HIGHWAY 50 EAST OF TIPTON...AS WELL AS ALONG ROUTE D JUST
  NORTH OF CALIFORNIA.

  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER ATTEMPT TO
  CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW-WATER CROSSINGS IF WATER COVERS THE
  ROAD. DO NOT DRIVE AROUND BARRICADES. IF YOUR VEHICLE STALLS
  ABANDON IT IMMEDIATELY AND SEEK HIGHER GROUND. RAPIDLY RISING
  WATER MAY SWEEP THE VEHICLE AND ITS OCCUPANTS AWAY.
