CRAWFORD COUNTY IN CENTRAL MISSOURI * UNTIL 200 PM CDT * THE HEAVY RAINS OF THIS MORNING CONTINUE TO CAUSE FLOODING PROBLEMS IN PARTS OF CRAWFORD COUNTY. THE CRAWFORD COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE AND MISSOURI WATER PATROL ARE NOW NOTIFYING RECREATIONAL INTERESTS ALONG THE MERAMEC RIVER AND HUZZAH CREEK TO MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IMMEDIATELY...AS BOTH STREAMS HAVE RISEN DRAMATICALLY OVER THE PAST FEW HOURS. * ALTHOUGH IT DOES APPEAR THAT THE HEAVIEST RAINS WILL BE TAPERING OFF IN CRAWFORD COUNTY AROUND 11 AM...THE RUNOFF WILL CONTINUE TO POSE FLOODING PROBLEMS INTO THE EARLY AFTERNOON HOURS. AN AUTOMATED RAIN GAGE IN THE VIBURNUM AREA HAS RECEIVED OVER 4 INCHES OF RAIN SINCE THE EARLY MORNING HOURS. VIBURNUM IS ALONG THE CRAWFORD...IRON COUNTY LINE. RECREATIONAL INTERESTS ARE URGED TO FOLLOW THE ADVICE OF THE COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE AND OF THE MISSOURI WATER PATROL. DO NOT WAIT...LEAVE THE RIVER AREA AND MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND NOW.
